Omega was developed as a 115-metre Type C tanker for demanding inland and sea-ready operation. The project combines practical vessel design, robust cargo system integration and Stage V diesel propulsion within a newbuild engineered around reliability, operational control and long-term use.

The vessel’s technical arrangement was developed around heated cargo operation up to 90°C, with cargo piping, pumps and deck systems integrated into the overall vessel design. This required close coordination between engineering, shipbuilding execution and the operational requirements of the tanker.

With its 16.50-metre beam and sea-ready capability, Omega demonstrates V-Shipping’s approach of translating vessel requirements into a practical build solution. The result is a tanker developed around dependable operation, clear technical integration and efficient project delivery.

V-SHIPPING’S ROLE IN THE OMEGA PROJECT

V-Shipping was responsible for the development of Omega as designer and builder, connecting vessel concept, engineering decisions, shipbuilding execution and final delivery within one coordinated project approach.

The project required more than the development of a tanker alone. Vessel dimensions, sea-ready operation, cargo system requirements, propulsion strategy and construction decisions had to work together around the vessel’s intended operating profile, reliability and long-term use.

Omega demonstrates V-Shipping’s design-to-build philosophy: technical decisions are evaluated not only on paper, but in relation to construction, cargo handling, operational performance and the practical requirements of the completed vessel.
