ENGINEERED FOR
PROVEN POWER,
ROBUST INTEGRATION
AND LONG-TERM OPERATION

Milano was developed as a 135-metre Type C inland tanker for dependable oil transport and heated cargo operation. The vessel combines proven diesel propulsion with practical tanker engineering and a large newbuild platform designed around reliability, maintainability and day-to-day operational performance.

The machinery installation reflects a straightforward engineering philosophy: propulsion, auxiliary systems and onboard equipment are integrated around clear access, serviceability and dependable operation. Within a vessel of this scale, technical layout and machinery integration play a critical role in supporting efficient construction and long-term use.

Built with Team-Co and delivered in 2019, Milano demonstrates V-Shipping’s design-to-build approach: vessel dimensions, propulsion, cargo requirements and shipbuilding decisions are developed as one coordinated project, with technical choices evaluated in relation to construction, maintenance and real operational demands.

V-SHIPPING’S ROLE IN THE MILANO PROJECT

V-Shipping was responsible for the development of Milano as designer and builder, connecting vessel concept, tanker engineering, propulsion integration, shipbuilding execution and final delivery within one coordinated project approach.

The project required the vessel’s 135-metre platform, heated cargo requirements, diesel propulsion and construction strategy to be developed as one practical tanker solution. Machinery layout, cargo systems and onboard technical installations had to remain aligned with the vessel’s intended operating profile and long-term reliability.

Milano demonstrates V-Shipping’s design-to-build philosophy: technical decisions are developed not only around drawings and specifications, but around buildability, maintenance, operational performance and the dependable long-term use of the completed vessel.
